Eden Estate Visit (3) - To Visit Phillip Leong At Chenderiang

Phillip's home in Chenderiang (l/r) Phillip CK Leong, Ignatius Chew, Su Win, Agnes Chew with the big yellow bananna and Pauline Chew

After Temoh it was a visit to Phillip Leong at Chenderiang another 10km away. From the main road Phillips home is heavily camouflaged by jungle. Once you enter his driveway you wonder if you have made the correct turn. Then you see his wooden ‘resort’ home and see Phillip waving and realise you have arrived. You walk through his walkway over a small bridge above a stream and that’s his home. Built on stilts the house is open and airy. Ignatius mentioned there was no mosquitos and Phillip answered he had planted mosquito repelling plants all around the house.

In 2017 when Ignatius was trying to locate the entrance of his grandfathers cave mine of Gua Puncak, Gunang Lanno he approached Phillip who was a President of the Malaysian Karst Society. Phillip took us to the location of the entrance which was a working quarry. Unfortunately the entrance was quarried and the entrance had been permanently sealed.

..literally living with nature ....

...airy and open .....all around ....

..very quaint and tidy ....

..the Leong's have placed photos of their travels into separate travel books ...
