Celebrating The 2024 Year Of The Wood Dragon@The Lim Family Home

This Chinese New Year I was invited to celebrate together at the Lim Family Home. This was my second year at the home. I was glad at being invited for this grand celebration amongst a huge family that could trace its roots back to a hundred years.

The start of the evening began with the traditional lion dance first in their ancestral hall to honour their ancestors before it was taken to their front door.

I must mention this Lim home is a heritage home and was modelled after their China home in Xiamen, Fujian Province.  It has the front entrance, a big lounge, a courtyard and large dining room and an ancestral hall, basically Chinese in design.

After the lion dance it was time for dinner and fellowship. It was a cool night with delicious food and this year I had the opportunity to meet more of the family.  It was enjoyable to put the names to faces and be able to link them up.
