Ong Su-ming came to YLCO museum on 22nd July to handover 2 folders of reading
material and photos to curator Ignatius Chew on her father Tan Sri Ong Hock Thye the Chief
Judge of Malaya. Su-ming was joined by her sisters, Qiuming Hay,
Mayine Lim and Oola Anderson. All three sisters live overseas and except for
Qiuming Hay the other two was their first visit to YLCO museum.

The material
will be to include Tan Sri Ong Hock Thye into the ‘Museum of Families’ an extension of Ipoh World and covers non
YLCO subjects. It allows other families of friends to participate and share
their ancestors thus creating wider interest for topics on Ipoh.
TH Ong
married Chong Khew Yin but she died early. Ong remarried in 1943 to Mary Chung
Yuet See (1924–1995), the eldest daughter of Kapitan China Chung Thye Phin. The sisters said they were glad they were able to see early photos of their grandfather
Chung Thye Phin at the YLCO museum.
Chung Thye Phin, their grandfather was a close friend of Chew Boon Juan, Ignatius' grandfather. In the early 1920's they took a months long trip around the world with their wives and Chung Thye Phin's young son Chung Kok Soon. Ong Su-ming also took them to Arlene House at
Old Town earlier where they had photographs of Chung Thye Phin.

Ignatius
showed the guests around taking photos which brought back memories of their time
in Ipoh.
