Dato Michelle Yeoh Re-Opened Kinta Swimming Club / 22 October 2010

Bond actress Dato Michelle Yeoh was invited to reopen the Kinta Swimming Club on 22 October 2010 and was made the Patron of the Club. The Club had been shut down since 1994.

President Hong appoints Michelle 'Patron' of the Kinta Swimming Club. 

Michelle was accompanyed by her late father Dato Yeoh Kian Teck and niece Victoria Yeoh. Other notable VIPs was Dato Seri Ong Ka Chuan, KSC President Hong Weng Kuen and Hong Soon Kheong (KSCVP).

In foyer by the side the pool was a showcase of the founder and past Presidents of the club. Interestingly it showed the legacy Yeoh Khuan Joo which he had started since 1931.

Michelle’s great grandfather Yeoh Khuan Joo was the founder of the club in 1931, her grandfather Yeoh Ghim Khoon was a benefactor 1946, father Dato Yeoh Kian Teik was a past President 1975-1983 and in 2010 Michelle  was made a patron of the club. That is quite a Yeoh family legacy.
