In late April Ignatius Chew had a
request to open the 1 Jalan Lasam for some ladies from Meru Resort who were
keen to visit the museum and view its ‘interesting’ family history.
They arrived in early May 2. There
were seven of them and they were known as Meru Valley Patchwork Society led by Datin
Mina Ushiama.
According to Datin Mina the society ‘meets
every Tuesday morning and we make various handmade products for the year-end
charity Bazaar at Meru Valley.
The ladies spent 3 hours at 1 Jalan Lasam and took in all the museum had to offer starting with the library, the antiques museum and the family museum.
Datin Mina thanked Dato Lim Si Boon for arranging the visit. They enjoyed the tour immensely especially the Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh’s floor. It was about Ipoh history and gave an insight of the ‘who’s who’. It was a very interesting and valuable visit.
