YLCO Museum in November saw the visit of the Mdm Chow Yoong Yue and her family consisting of Yeoh Chee Koon, Robin Yeoh Lam Hoe, his son Rupert Yeoh Pang Jun and his wife Jennifer Brokamp and her family. Mdm Chow is the second wife of Dato Yeoh Kian Teik.

Robin had texted Ignatius Chew a month earlier and asked to visit the museum. The visit was arranged for November 26.

Rupert had recently married Jennifer Brokamp in England and was in Ipoh to meet the family. Jennifer came with her family which included parents Teri and Jay and brother TJ.

The formalities done they proceeded to the museum. There were many 'first timer visitors' and they were awed by what they saw exhibited in the museum.

However Mdm Chow was totally surprised to see her retirement photos included in the museum. Chow was the Headmistress of Ave Maria Convent and had retired in the 1980’s. She hardly expected to see her retirement photographs in the museum and she was taken aback.

Later she wrote a note of thanks saying “I am very touched and impressed by the care and patience you folks have put into the exhibits at the museum. Congratulations to all who have wòrķed so hard. Best wìshès to you all”…ÇHOW ÝÒONG YUE.

'Pleasantly surprised to see graduation and wedding photos' ...Yeoh Chee Koon

Yeoh Chee Koon, Chow's daughter was also surprised to see her graduation photo at the museum where she had posed with her grandmother and brother. Another exhibit which brought back fond memories was of her taken on her wedding day with her father Dato’ Yeoh Kian Teik .. “Pop had come down to my aunt’s house in KL to give me away on my wedding day. What a wonderful memory”.

Jennifer Brokamp said that "the museum itself is impressively curated and the passion of its creators is evident.

The Brokamp family were so grateful to be shown around the amazing museum. We knew Rupert had a big family, but it was amazing to see how big and established the Yeohs, Chews, Lims and Ohs are in Ipoh and how wide ranging their accomplishments are. We felt so welcomed by the whole family, and it was an incredible experience that we all will cherish. Such an incredible tribute to such incredible families!"

Amidst all this museum curator Ignatius Chew was a gracious host and assisted by his young assistants Yeoh Qing Li, Yeoh Pang Hoe and Yeoh Pang Wern.

Besides the usual visitors such as the Chews and Oh there were some first time visitors such as Eveline Yeoh, Christine Chew, Yeoh Chee Peng and also Ng Lai Voon wife the late Yeoh Kian Hin.

As usual all the first timers to the museum were total in awe of the exhibits at the museum.
